Course Description
This exciting new course covers a range of literature from Chaucer and Shakespeare to modern writers published after 1990. You will develop the skills to compare texts, to analyse the effects of language and to understand the significance of the contexts in which texts were written. Reading around the subject is crucial; indeed responding to literary criticism is an integral part of this course. Many texts produce quite controversial views!
It is important that you are prepared to take notes, undertake individual research, keep to deadlines, read, plan and draft work if you are to get the most out of this course. Moreover, attendance at theatres and workshops is essential and very enjoyable.
Career Pathways
