What does it involve?
Unit 1: Dynamic Planet - You will look at earthquakes, volcanoes, climate change, the destruction of the rainforests and the wasteful use and pollution of the world's water.
Unit 2: People and the Planet - You will study how populations grow and change, where people live and work, and how they exploit and use resources.
Unit 3: Making Geographical Decisions - This is a decision-making exercise where you study a specific topic in detail.
Unit 4: Researching Geography - This will involve undertaking research and carrying out fieldwork.
What about coursework?
This takes the form of 'controlled assessment'. You will have the opportunity to take part in a residential fieldtrip to Weymouth in order to learn about fieldwork techniques and collect the data needed for this assignment. Your report will be written up in class time, under controlled conditions.
