Modern Languages Introduction
The Modern Languages Department consists of five full time members of staff and is based in 5 classrooms. All rooms are equipped with internet access, computer projectors, interactive white boards and satellite French or German TV.
Two rooms have their own pupil computers and one room is equipped with an area consisting of a shop, cafe and information desk, designed so that pupils can develop their linguistic skills through role-play practice.
Pupils in Years 7 and 8 study both French and German. In Year 9 pupils may opt to follow either one language or to continue with both.
At the end of Year 9 pupils follow GCSE courses in their chosen language.
In the Sixth Form the Department offers both Languages to A/S and A2 Level, following the Associated Examination Board.
