Music Introduction
The Music department has its own suite of rooms. These consist of one classroom of Apple Mac workstations running Logic Audio; one classroom with permanent keyboards; an Apple Mac computer room; a recording studio; 3 Practice rooms and a departmental office. All classrooms are connected to the internet and fitted with permanent projectors and whiteboards.
The Department is well equipped with a wide range of instruments and other resources.
Lower School Music is taught to mixed ability groups in one, weekly, one hour ten minute lesson.
GCSE groups in the Upper School are taught within the OCR syllabus. Music is becoming an increasingly popular option.
At A-Level candidates follow the EDEXCEL syllabuses of Music and Music Technology.
The School employs its own team of instrumental teachers. Instruments taught are: Orchestral Woodwind, Brass, Strings, Acoustic Guitar, Drums, Piano, Voice, Keyboard, Electric Guitar and Bass.
