• have the opportunity to specialise in the design and making of products in a variety of resistant materials, including woods, metals and plastics.
• develop your ability to design and make through a range of different processes and production methods.
• develop your CAD and CAM skills using a range of professional software and our industrial standard laser cutter.
• have the opportunity to be 'hands-on' throughout every stage of the design process.

• develop independent research skills and use your initiative.
• learn and apply practical workshop skills.
• develop your presentation skills and evaluate ideas critically.

Studying this subject could lead to...
you taking a design based A/S and A2 Level such as Product Design in the Sixth Form.
Employment in building or manufacturing.
A career in Three Dimensional Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Engineering or Architecture.
